After nearly losing his job early in the season, Dodgers manager Don Mattingly has turned the team into World Series favorites. Despite the historic turnaround, Mattingly is in the last year of his contract and how deep the Dodgers go in the postseason may determine his fate.
While it’s all speculation at this point, some feel that an early first round exit would signal the end of Mattingly’s tenure as manager. Sources close to baseball analyst Buster Olney have also mentioned that management has questioned his in-game managing.
With high expectations not only to win this year but ultimately build a dynasty, management will do everything it can to achieve those goals even if it means heading in a new direction.
