Dodgers News: Sergio Romo Pitches for First Time Since WBC

Dodgers free agent signee Sergio Romo left camp to join Team Mexico in the World Baseball Classic. He dealt with back stiffness after returning.

But Romo took the mound Saturday, and the performance went well.

While his in-game participation was delayed, Romo threw a bullpen session March 21. The injury never appeared serious, but the Dodgers were cautious.

Romo’s perfect inning was his third appearance of the spring, all of which resulted in no runs. The 34-year-old is expected full-go for Opening Day.

The three-time World Series champion was 1-0 with a  2.64 ERA in 30.2 innings last season. Romo has been one of baseball’s most dominant relievers over the last decade.

  1. Hey Sergio now that you’re a Dodger how about getting Three Twins to send some Sergio Romo’s Mexican Chocolate down to LA?
