Dodgers News: The #DodgersLoveLA Tour Highlights

This week was the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 13th annual community service week. It’s an entire week-long thing that the team does in order to give back to the city in any way that they can.

It started on Monday with a Day of Literacy, and it concluded on Friday with a visit to A Place Called Home, where the team, broadcasters, and alumni interacted with children in their after-school activities.

The Dodgers’ official Twitter account (@Dodgers) was there all along the way to document some of the highlights.

One of the stops on Tuesday was Yasiel Puig visiting the Salvation Army and Red Shield Youth and Community Center.

Wednesday

One current Dodgers player and a Dodgers legend stopped by to have lunch with local law enforcement down in San Bernardino, an area rocked by an attack recently.

Thursday

The Boys in Blue hung out at FIGat7th to hand Dodger Dogs to some hungry people. And if there’s one thing we all love, it’s a Dodger Dog.

Friday

Lastly, they went to City Hall to see Vin Scully Avenue be born, and then they headed over to A Place Called Home to hang out with the youth in the town.

All in all, it was an eventful week for the Dodgers ilk as they touched many, many lives throughout the city and neighboring area. It’s always wonderful to see people give back to the community, especially a sports team that is pretty much woven into the fabric of said community.

A team is only as strong as the fans that support it, and being able to go out there and impact those who support the team in meaningful ways like this does more than words could ever put into context.
