Dodgers News: Tommy Lasorda Has Been Hospitalized

Tommy Lasorda, the Dodgers’ Hall of Fame manager, has been hospitalized.

Lasorda is in intensive care at Centinela Hospital in Los Angeles. Several of his former players have been in touch with him, according to the Orange County Register.



The reasoning for his hospitalization is unknown to the public.

Lasorda has a history of heart attacks, which eventually forced him to step down as Dodgers manager after 20 years on the bench.

In that time, Los Angeles won eight division titles and two World Series. Lasorda was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1997.

Over the past year, the 89-year-old Lasorda has been hospitalized on several occasions. His heart problems have been recurring since his retirement, though the details of this occurrence aren’t disclosed.
