Dodgers News: Uribe Leaves Game, Potentially Due To Injury

The right hamstring the same one that caused Uribe to miss five weeks earlier this season.

Despite sitting atop the National League West standings and holding the best record in the NL, the Los Angeles Dodgers have fare from had a breeze of a season.

They once again fell behind in the standings before storming back to overtake the San Francisco Giants and have suffered a litany of injuries along the way. Not including players who began the season on the disabled list, Clayton Kershaw was the first to go down with inflammation in his left shoulder.

Josh Beckett has spent multiple stints on the DL and so too has Hyun-Jin Ryu, who on Friday got placed on the DL for the second time this season. Juan Uribe also feel victim to an injury, but has been healthy since returning June 26.

Uribe has shared third base duties with Justin Turner, however it was Uribe who made his fourth consecutive start on Friday against the Milwaukee Brewers. Uribe got three at-bats in before being taken out of the game in the seventh inning.

According to J.P. Hoornstra of the LA Daily News Group, Uribe retired to the Dodgers clubhouse with trainer Stan Conte:

Uribe recorded multiple putouts in the game and didn’t show any signs of injury after flying out in the sixth. When he’s managed to remain healthy, Uribe has been one of the Dodgers more consistent bats.

Coming off a contract-year where he hit .278 and drove in 50 runs, Uribe has upped his average this season to .292 and has 35 RBIs. The 35 year old missed 34 games with a hamstring strain earlier in the year.
