Dodgers News: Vin Scully to Receive Icon Award at ESPYs

Los Angeles Dodgers’ legendary announcer Vin Scully is going to be awarded the Icon Award at the 25th ESPYs on Wednesday night.

The iconic announcer’s 67 years as a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers was appreciated by nearly everyone around the world of sports, not just baseball.

Wednesday night, he will be placed among the sporting world’s best as he will be going home with the Icon award.

Previous winners include Derek Jeter in 2015 and Abby Wambach, Peyton Manning and Kobe Bryant in 2016. So only the best of the best get to take home an award like this.

Presenting the award to Vin Scully will be an iconic actor and a very dedicated Dodger fan, Bryan Cranston.

Surely we are going to see a very humbled Vin Scully accept this award, but do not expect too long of a speech because as we have found out over the last year, Vin is not one to live in the spotlight.

It is a well deserved award for the most iconic announcer of all time.
