Dodgers News: Yasiel Puig Named One of Most Unpredictable Players in 2017

With less than a month left until spring training, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the other 29 teams are awaiting to see which players can exceed or not exceed expectations in 2017. According to David Schoenfield of ESPN, Yasiel Puig is the most unpredictable player in the Dodgers organization. Puig suffered last season due to injuries with a strained right hamstring that started in 2015.

The Cuban native ended the 2016 season hitting .263/.323/.740 with 11 home runs and 45 RBIs.

Puig, 26, was sent down to the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes on June 13 on a rehab assignment and was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma on Aug. 2. He combined a .358 average with both the Quakes and OKC Dodgers with 29 hits and 14 RBIs.

The possibilities of seeing the ’13-’14 Puig is slim to none but Dodger fans can imagine, right? It is known that some MLB pitchers have figured Puig’s struggle of hitting changeups. In 2013, Puig hit .327 against changeups, however, last season he hit .176.

As the 2017 season approaches, we can only visualize the athletic side of Puig that Los Angeles witnessed in his debut week.
