Dodgers News: Rams QB Jared Goff Responds Back to Yasiel Puig
The Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants have one of the top rivalries in sports. Unfortunately, it’s a bad situation for the first overall selection in the 2016 NFL Draft. On Thursday, April 28, 2016, the Los Angeles Rams selected Jared Goff, a quarterback from Cal.
The top draft choice is from Novato, California and is a Giants fan.
To make matters worse, an old tweet about Yasiel Puig has surfaced from Goff’s Twitter account. In July of 2013, Goff tweeted this tidbit about Puig:
I really hope Yasiel Puig gets a fastball in his ribs tomorrow
— Jared Goff (@JaredGoff16) July 29, 2013
In all fairness, with Goff on the other side of the rivalry, its not absurd to hear something like this. Rather than adding fuel to the fire, Puig took the high road, invited Goff to a Dodgers game, and welcomed to take the kid around town:
@JaredGoff16 Big hug, Welcome to LA, I show you around, be my guest to @Dodgers game #PuigYourFriend #PuigNotLate https://t.co/85B1djlAGM
— Yasiel Puig (@YasielPuig) April 29, 2016
Jackie Robinson Giveaway from Dodgers Nation.@YasielPuig Thanks for the warm welcome. Let's just forget that tweet happened. I'll have to take you up on the offer #PuigMyFriend

With the Rams returning to the Los Angeles area, it surely seems like the bond of being in the same city is already surfacing. According to Ryan Kartje of the Orange County Register and Southern California News Group, Goff is accepting the offer and will make amends with Puig.
Jared Goff said he plans on taking Yasiel Puig up on his offer to show him around Los Angeles.

He spoke about the matter during his introductory news conference with the L.A. Rams saying, “it was cool” for Puig to reach out.

Welcome to L.A. Mr. Goff
Puig’s Twitter game has been on fire lately and he adds to his arsenal with the #PuigYourFriend and #PuigNotLate hashtags.
Now, it’s necessary for the Dodgers to take this positive energy onto the field. The Dodgers are currently on a four game losing steak after being swept by the Miami Marlins. Continuing their homestand, they’ll look to change their fortunes against the San Diego Padres.
