Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig has become a sensation in Los Angeles and a rising superstar in the MLB.

Puig burst onto the scene last June and immediately made a name for himself, as he helped the Dodgers go from last place to National League West champions. This year, he has established himself as a potential MVP candidate and has made the transition to center field.

According to Paul Casella of MLB.com, Puig and others will try to expand their fame globally:

All-Stars Robinson Cano, Adam Jones, Albert Pujols and Yasiel Puig will highlight a group of Major Leaguers, led by Rangers manager Ron Washington, who will travel to Japan in November to take part in a five-game All-Star Series against Japan’s national team, Samurai Japan. The rest of the Major League All-Star roster will be announced at a later date.

MLB hasn’t done an All-Star series since 2006, but is bringing it back this year. Puig is the only Dodger named thus far, though more could join the roster if necessary. The team is set to play a five-game series. Three of the games will be played in Tokyo, along with one in Osaka and one in Sapporo. There will also be two exhibition games– one in Okinawa against Team Japan and one in Koshien against the Hanshin Tigers and Yomiuri Giants.
