Dodgers Option Carlos Triunfel To AAA, Recall Erisbel Arruebarrena

[new_royalslider id=”39″] Many expected the Los Angeles Dodgers to make a move on Thursday after it was said that Hanley Ramirez was possibly heading to the disabled list.

The Dodgers did make a move on Thursday, but not the one that was expected. They optioned infielder Carlos Triunfel to the Albuquerque Isotopes and recalled infielder Erisbel Arruebarrena.

Triunfel started at shortstop in Wednesday’s game and made an error, along with whiffing on a potential out at second base on a throw from catcher A.J. Ellis. He was called up to provide some defensive help off the bench.

On the season, Triunfel is hitting .154 with a home run and an RBI, but has yet to record a hit after starting out 2-for-2. He has participated in 10 games, starting four of them at shortstop after Ramirez missed time with various injuries.
