UPDATE (June 25, 2:30 p.m PT): Courtesy of Jon Weisman at Dodger Insider is a clip of Mike Bolsinger, Adam Liberatore and Joc Pederson getting coffee for their teammates:

Shortly after the Los Angeles Dodgers shut out the Chicago Cubs, Pederson posted the secret to winning on his Instagram account:

Prior to Monday the Los Angeles Dodgers last visited Wrigley Field in September of 2014. They were still working to clinch a second straight National League West division title, and were playing with a fuller roster as they made several call-ups during the final month of the regular season.

Among the players joining the Dodgers from the Minor-League ranks was Joc Pederson. His name had of course already become synonymous with plenty of promise, but on the day of the second of a four-game set, Pederson was reminded of his rookie status.

The Dodgers sent the young center fielder to Starbucks across the street from Wrigley to fetch several orders of coffee. Now nine months later with the Dodgers facing the Chicago Cubs in the finale of another four-game series, Pederson assumed coffee duties once more — though he offered to do so this time around.

Not in Thursday’s lineup, Pederson was joined by Mike Bolsinger (technically not a rookie based on service time) and rookie relief pitcher Adam Liberatore, which the Dodgers documented on their Twitter account via photos from team photographer Jon SooHoo:

Also on hand to catch the players in off-the-field action was Time Warner Cable SportsNet LA:

Yasmani Grandal, who has the day off, thanked his teammates on Twitter for providing hot coffee:

Bolsinger, Liberatore and Pederson posed for a photo-op after a job well done:

After Thursday’s game the Dodgers depart for Miami and will then travel to Arizona to round out their 10-game road trip.
