Dodgers Rumors: Could Mattingly Be Fired As Early As Tomorrow?

After another dismal series that saw the bullpen blow leads in three straight games, the Dodgers are suddenly looking to make a change. The Guggenheim Group is frustrated and the firing of manager Don Mattingly is imminent and could become official as early as tomorrow.

The Dodgers start a series in Milwaukee tomorrow and it’ll be very interesting if Mattingly is in the dugout for the game. Names like Tony La Russa and Ozzie Guillen will be brought up, but the Dodgers could go in house with either Trey Hillman or Tim Wallach if Mattingly is fired.

With a lot of expectation due to their $220 million payroll, the Dodgers have significantly underachieved as they’re 17-25 and seven games back of first place. Injuries to Zack Greinke, Hanley Ramirez and Chad Billingsley are main reasons for why the team isn’t performing, but at some point a change needs to be made.
