Dodgers Rumors: Dodgers, Rays Possibly Matching Up About David Price

David Price Earlier this morning, the Los Angeles Dodgers reportedly expressed interest about acquiring Tampa Bay Rays pitcher David Price, but the interest seem to be exploratory more than anything.

Dodgers GM Ned Colletti and president Stan Kasten have been on record as saying they want to keep prospects and build their farm system. However, according to Bruce Levine of WSCR-AM/670 The Score in Chicago talks might be heating up:

It remains to be seen if the two sides can reach agreement on a deal as the Dodgers would like to add another starting pitcher and Masahiro Tanaka’s posting remains in limbo.

Just 28, Price remains under team control for the next two years before he’d be eligible to become a free agent. As they did with Matt Garza and James Shields, the Rays like to move their front-line pitchers to acquire cheaper talent and collect top tier prospects with many expecting a Price deal over the winter.

Dodger prospects including Corey Seager, Zack Lee, Joc Pederson and Julio Urias have all been identified as potential targets of the Rays and it remains to be seen if a deal gets down in Orlando. Stay tuned.
