Dodgers Rumors: Giants to Pursue Justin Turner?

If you can’t beat them, have them join you.

The San Francisco Giants are reportedly “open-minded” to going after Justin Turner this off-season, according to Jon Morosi of MLB Network on Tuesday.

If San Francisco is looking to poach the Dodgers’ third baseman, the time to do it is now. Turner had arguably his best year in 2016, and the Giants want him while the gettin’ is good.

Turner had splits of .275/.399/.493 and blasted 27 home runs with 90 RBIs. He’s also solid on defense, as he is a finalist to win the National League Gold Glove Award.

However the Dodgers don’t want to let Turner go, as they made a qualifying offer to him on Monday. Turner, who will be 32 in 2017, definitely will have his options this year.

Both teams already have an intense rivalry on the field, so it only makes sense they have one off the field as well.

No one can blame the Giants for attempting to pursue Turner, as it will make them better and weaken the Dodgers at the same time. If Turner does end up in a San Francisco jersey somehow, it will add to an already heated rivalry.
