In addition to veterans like Crawford, this spring the Dodgers have some talented prospects in big league camp. Youth was omnipresent throughout Wednesday’s game, specifically in the form of Joc Pederson and Corey Seager, who split duties as the designated hitter.

Combined, both prospects reached base in all four of their plate appearances. Seager replaced Pederson in the seventh inning and worked a four-pitch walk in his first at-bat.

He then came up again in the ninth inning with two men on base and no outs and the Dodgers trailing, 6-3. He added to the Dodgers’ rally with an RBI-single that scored Darnell Sweeney. Seager, a 2012 first-round pick, combined to bat .349 with 20 homers and 97 RBIs in Single-A and Double-A last season.

Like Pederson in 2014, it’s plausible Seager will be called up to the Major Leagues in September of this season. Courtesy of MLB.com is Seager’s ninth inning RBI-single:
