The Los Angeles Dodgers faced the Milwaukee Brewers for the second time in as many days, though this time the Dodgers were the home team and they weren’t playing the affair as part of a split-squad game.

Brandon McCarthy was on the mound for the Dodgers and the infield behind him consisted of players who aren’t expected to be regular starters during the 2015 season. That’s not an indictment on the Dodgers bench however, as Darwin Barney and Justin Turner made solid defensive plays.

Turner’s first came when he snagged a liner hit towards center field that ended the first inning and likely prevented the Brewers from scoring a second run. Turner then upped the ante in the third inning with this diving stop and flip from his glove to Barney, who threw to first base to complete the double play:

While the Dodgers’ defense drew plenty of cheers, the offense was not to be outdone. Kyle Jensen hit his second home run of the spring to tie the game in the bottom of the eighth:

The Brewers tied the game in the top of the ninth, only to see Corey Seager send Dodger fans home happy with a walk-off double. The win was the Dodgers’ fourth of the spring, meanwhile the Brewers remained win-less through four games.

  1. I know it’s just spring, but the team is looking good. Lots of solid contributions from the non regular guys. Seems as though the emphasis on adding depth may have paid off…come on april!!

  2. Spring games are meaningless except to those guys trying to in a job or impress management. Pederson is trying to nail down the starting CF job. Ethier is just trying to stay on the team

  3. Ethier hopefully impresses someone enough to trade for him. He needs to go. I think they keep Guererro on the roster so they need to get rid of an outfielder.

  4. I agree about the Spring but some of the less known “kids” have made great impressions going forward like Dickson, Jansen etc….
