Dodgers To Open Pop-Up Museum Presented By Mastercard

Are you in Los Angeles for Thanksgiving weekend and looking for something Dodgers related? We just might have the thing for you.

The Dodgers will host their third annual Pop-Up Museum presented by Mastercard beginning this Saturday (November 24th). The event will take place on the Left Field reserve level of the ballpark. Tickets for the event are available here.

Any good museum is worth it’s share of exhibits. The Dodgers announced the following to be on display:

  • Jackie Robinson Game-Used Jersey and Cap
  • Fernando Valenzuela Game-Used Jersey and Warm-Up Jacket
  • Don Newcombe’s 1956 Cy Young Award
  • Steve Garvey’s 1974 MVP Award

And there’s more. This is from the official press release of the event:

This unique experience will celebrate the life and legacy of Jackie Robinson in honor of his upcoming 100th birthday as well as the Dodgers’ inaugural class of inductees into theLegends of Dodger Baseball: Don Newcombe, Steve Garvey and Fernando Valenzuela. Starting in 2019, the team will induct Dodger greats into theLegends of Dodger Baseball in recognition of their impact on the franchise, both on and off the field. The pieces on display at the pop-up museum will come from Gary Cypres’ world-renowned sports memorabilia collection as well as items on loan from the players’ personal archives.

If I was lucky enough to be present in sunny Los Angeles for Turkey Day, I would definitely check out this event. It’s a good fix for those of us (like me) who wish it was still baseball season.

Any excuse to be at Dodger Stadium, enjoying Dodgers baseball; is a good one.
