Dodgers Video: Hyun-Jin Ryu In His Latest Noodle Commercial

While Hyun-Jin Ryu has yet to step on the mound for the Los Angeles Dodgers this season due to shoulder issues, the Korean-born left-hander continues to be a star in his home country.

Ryu has been on TV shows, been featured on K-Pop songs and been seen in countless commercials for noodles, including one that starred a Clayton Kershaw “look-alike”. The latest commercial keeps it simple for Ryu, as he is on a mound alongside a woman throwing noodles and later in the clip eating noodles.

The 28-year-old was set to return in June, but then had another setback that could push him back even later. The left-hander was shut down after decreased velocity in a recent bullpen session. In order to make room on the roster, Ryu was recently placed on the 60-day disabled list. The Dodgers are already down a starter in Brandon McCarthy, who recently underwent Tommy John surgery, and are currently using Carlos Frias and possibly Mike Bolsinger as their fourth and fifth starters.
