Former Dodger Dee Gordon Wins Silver Slugger

Well, this’ll go over just fine with fans.

Dee Gordon, already winner of a batting title, hits leader, Gold Glove award winner and steals leader, has won the Louisville Silver Slugger Award – as announced Thursday afternoon.

Here’s J.P. Hoonstra to tie a little bow on the incredible season Gordon enjoyed.

As we wrote earlier this morning (with quotes from the L.A. Times), Farhan Zaidi admits that the Dodgers didn’t anticipate this kind of season from Gordon. Yes, he had plenty of upside, but there’s simply no way to predict this kind of immediate improvement in all aspects of his game.

Either way, though, the trade is behind us. Gordon deserves all the credit in the world for showing such great improvement. When a situation like a trade happens, it’s on the player to show the organization that traded him it was stupid to do so. In that sense, we’re happy for Gordon.
