Highlight Of The Week: Yasiel Puig’s Leaping Catch At The Wall

The Los Angeles Dodgers enjoyed a big series win this week against their American League West neighbor, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. They dropped two of three to the Milwaukee Brewers, but still managed to gain two games in the divisional race.

Our highlight of the week came in Thursday night’s game in Anaheim with Hyun-Jin Ryu on the mound and Josh Hamilton at the plate. In the sixth inning, Hamilton came up with two runners on and two outs with the Dodgers leading 4-0.

Hamilton drove a pitch to left-center field that seemed to hang in the air for a long time– long enough for center fielder Yasiel Puig to run and leap to take away at least a double and two RBIs.

The play sent the Dodger fans in the crowd into a frenzy and preserved the shutout in an eventual 7-0 victory.
