Highlights From Game 5 Of The NLCS Between The Cardinals And Dodgers

Pushed to the brink of elimination, the Dodgers had a chance to send the NLCS back to Busch Stadium with Zack Greinke on the mound against Cardinals starter Joe Kelly.

Greinke and Kelly both started Game 1, but neither factored into the decision as the Cardinals won in 13-innings after Carlos Beltran drove in the winning run. Hanley Ramirez and Andre Ethier were back in the lineup after Ramirez was pulled in favor of Nick Punto in the seventh inning last night.

In his first at-bat in Game 1, Ramirez was hit by a Kelly fastball that has change the course of the NLCS as Hanley has been compromised and isn’t the same hitter he was during the regular season and NLDS.

However, with an all hands on deck approach, the Dodgers were looking to push the Cardinals to a Game 6 with Clayton Kershaw slated to pitch on Friday.

Here are the highlights from Game 5.

Yadier Molina grounds into inning-ending double play

Juan Uribe RBI single in 2nd inning

Zack Greinke RBI single, 2-0 Dodgers

Hanley Ramirez isn’t happy about grounding into a double play

Adrian Gonzalez Mickey Mouse ears after solo home run

Carl Crawford solo home run in the 5th inning, 4-2 Dodgers

A.J. Ellis solo home run, 5-2 Dodgers in the 8th inning

Adrian Gonzalez hits his second home run of the day, 6-2 Dodgers

Kenley Jansen strikes out Chambers to force Game 6 in St. Louis
