Juan Pierre – Rumored Possible 3-Way Trade

UPDATE: SI’s Jon Heyman reports via Twitter that the New York Mets would consider dealing Second Baseman Luis Castillo to the Dodgers in exchange for Pierre. The thinking is that the Dodgers will shed payroll and acquire a serviceable second baseman in Castillo. Stay tuned.

Juan Pierre : 3-4 Teams Interested…

Juan Pierre, might be involved in a 3-way trade in which the Dodgers would receive a bad contract starter in return. Apparently 3-4 teams have possible interest in his services. Call me pessimistic, but I feel like this might of been something dropped by the Dodgers front office to see if anyone actually wants Pierre. Don’t get me wrong, Pierre had a fantastic year last year, for the time he was allowed to play.

So if the interest is true, whom are the suitors? Tigers? Reds? Braves?

  1. I’d like to see the Dodgers and Reds begin discussions about a trade involving both Juan Pierre and Brandon Phillips. The Reds would like to unload either Bronson Arroyo or Aaron Harang as well. A swap of a couple of bad contracts makes sense here. Obviously, the Dodgers may have to part with a decent prospect as well, but at this point, what do we really have to lose?

  2. Arroyo or Harang + Phillips

Pierre would almost be a wash with the SP contract, I think Arroyo makes 12M, so we’d be paying a little more. Phillips would be the key for me…Also, does CIN even need an OF?
