Kershaw was not the only Dodger to be named in the survey. Corey Seager, the Dodgers’ top prospect was selected by an AL general manager:

Seager [of the Dodgers] and [the Astros’] Correa are great talents at shortstop, guys you can build a team around,” an AL GM said.

Seager’s maturity and poise at the plate in what was his first experience in big league camp were nothing short of impressive. What may be more impressive is Seager receiving just as many votes as reigning AL Cy Young Award winner Corey Kluber and two-time MVP Miguel Cabrera.

Dodgers manager Don Mattingly compared him to Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr., and Jimmy Rollins voiced his belief in Seager being able to remain at shortstop.

As for Kershaw, he faces the difficult task of meeting regular season expectations that he’s set, followed by finding success in the postseason.
