Mastodon Guitarist Brent Hinds Wears Dodgers Jersey At Grammys

Dodgers Grammys

Awards show season brings out the best and worst in the fashion industry, and last night was no different at the Grammy Awards. Tom Ford, Atelier Versace, Jean Paul Gaultier and the like made their presence felt at the red carpet.

But one guest chose a look that was unconventional, but also iconic in its own right as it was centered around Dodger blue.

Mastodon guitarist Brent Hinds provided one of the surprises on the red carpet when he showed up in a Los Angeles Dodgers’ road Adrian Gonzalez uniform with his bandmates. The veteran heavy metal outfit from Atlanta were nominated for best metal performance, an award that ultimately went to Jack Black-fronted Tenacious D.

Celebrities wearing Dodger hats or jerseys is nothing new, but Hinds showed up ready to jump on the field at Chavez Ravine (perhaps a non-roster invitee this Spring to shore up the bullpen, Andrew Friedman?).

News of the guitarist’s homage to the Boys in Blue eventually made its way to El Titan, who expressed his appreciation for Hinds’ taste on Twitter:

Hinds looked more like an “If They Mated” version of Justin Turner and Zach Galifianakis than Gonzalez, but nevertheless, his tip of the cap to the Dodgers won’t go unnoticed by Dodger fans.
