Can Corey Seager steal NL Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Player Honors?

Early in the season the NL Rookie of the Year race was a runaway for two players, the Dodgers’ Corey Seager and the Rockies’ Trevor Story.

Story has been out of lineup since July 30 due to a thumb injury.

That left the door open for Seager to potentially run away with the best rookie crown.

Seager is batting .312 on the season with 23 home runs and 62 RBI.

Seager has remained consistent throughout the duration of the season thus far.

Some are even at looking at the prospect of him not only winning top rookie honors but most valuable player honors as well.

The one glaring player that might have a better argument is the Cubs’ Kris Bryant. The Cubs also have the best record in the major leagues.

Still with a full month to play in the regular season, the race is far from over.

But it is clear that Seager has met expectations set for him and by far exceeded them.
