PHOTO: Ryu, Puig Among Dodgers Dressed Up For Australia Flight

Late Sunday night, the Los Angeles Dodgers took off for Australia ahead of the Opening Series next weekend against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Instead of dressing for comfort for the 17-hour flight, a few of the Dodger players thought it better to dress their best and took to social media to show off their looks.

Hyun-Jin Ryu used his official Twitter account to tweet a photo of himself with a few teammates:

The caption reads “Off to Australia” and includes Juan Uribe, Yasiel Puig, Alex Guerrero and Hanley Ramirez dressed their best. Puig changed his look that was very different from the one he posted on his official Instagram account:

All in all, 30 players are heading to Sydney with the team, but only 25 will be eligible to play in the actual games. They’re scheduled to play an exhibition game on Thursday against Team Australia and top pitching prospect Zach Lee is expected to start that game. Clayton Kershaw is scheduled to start the opening game, while Ryu is slated for the second game.

Puig, Ramirez and Uribe are also expected to be in the starting lineup, along with Adrian Gonzalez, Dee Gordon, Andre Ethier and a left fielder to be named. Carl Craword won’t be making the trip because of the upcoming birth of his child while right-handers Zack Greinke, Dan Haren and Josh Beckett are also staying back to recover from minor issues.

In less than a week, the Dodgers will begin the regular season and start their 2014 quest for a World Series title.
