Preview: Dodgers Face Cardinals For Last Time In Regular Season
Coming off of a stellar performance by Clayton Kershaw, the Los Angeles Dodgers hope to knock off the St. Louis Cardinals in the final game between the two teams for the remainder of the regular season.
Zack Greinke, who is coming off of his worst start of the season, is on the mound for the Dodgers. The right-hander has pitched well against the Cardinals in his career, going 9-4 with a 3.17 ERA against them. Although Greinke sports a 5-1 record, the Dodgers have won eight of his 11 starts this season, so runs support will be important for him tonight. He ranks seventh best in the Majors with a 1.97 ERA.
The Cardinals counter with Lance Lynn, who enters the night with a 4-4 record and 3.03 ERA. In his last start he allowed just two hits and zero runs in 7.2 innings against the Milwaukee Brewers. However, the right-hander has not pitch well on the road this season, going 1-3 with a 3.99 ERA.
Andre Ethier returns to the Dodgers lineup, though now is in left field with Yasiel Puig in right. Yasmani Grandal is behind the plate and bats back in the lineup in left field, as Yasiel Puig is in right field. Yasmani Grandal starts behind the plate and bats sixth.
