After finishing 4-3 on a seven-game homestand on Sunday, the Los Angeles Dodgers travel north to begin a three-game set with the San Francisco Giants Tuesday night at AT&T Park. The Giants have won four of the six meetings to this point, including a three-game series sweep at home.

Carlos Frias makes his fourth start for the Dodgers this season and seventh appearance overall. He’s 3-0 with a 2.89 ERA and has 16 strikeouts in 18.2 innings pitched. Frias faced the Giants in relief April 27 and allowed just one hit in 1.1 innings of a Dodgers home win.

Starting opposite the young right-hander is veteran Tim Hudson, who is 1-3 with a 4.57 ERA in seven starts this season. Hudson has only allowed fewer than three earned runs in an outing once — his season debut April 9 against the San Diego Padres.

With a win the Dodgers can pull to .500 on the road in 2015 at 8-8. Their last venture away from Dodger Stadium yielded just a 2-4 record on a six-game trip that began in San Francisco. The Dodgers scored a combined seven runs in the series they were swept by their longtime rival, never scoring more than three runs in a game.

As has so often been the case this season, Juan Uribe again finds himself on the bench. Alex Guerrero starts at third base in the stadium where he’s hit two home runs and one double. Scott Van Slyke starts in left field and Andre Ethier remains in right.

In other notes, the Dodgers’ five team shutouts are tied with the Oakland Athletics and Giants for most in the Majors. Additionally, the Dodgers enter Tuesday’s game leading the Majors in run differential (+58), home runs (54), walks (150), on-base percentage (.349) and slugging percentage (.470).

Tuesday also marks Hunter Pence’s home debut as returned to the Giants lineup May 16 after missing nearly six weeks with a broken left forearm.
