After a 5-5 road trip to begin the second half of the season, the Los Angeles Dodgers return home and will host the Oakland Athletics in a two-game Interleague series at Chavez Ravine beginning Tuesday evening.

Brett Anderson will return to the mound for the Dodgers after leaving his last start six days ago in the third inning with an ankle injury. The left-hander is 5-5 with a 3.33 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 3.56 FIP in 19 starts this season. Tuesday he will be facing his former team for the first time in his career. Anderson played the first five seasons of his career in Oakland, starting 73 games and yielding a 3.81 ERA.

In six career Interleague starts, Anderson is 1-3 with a 5.34 ERA. In two Interleague starts this season though he has given up a combined four earned runs in 13 innings (2.77 ERA).

The Athletics will send their ace, Sonny Gray to the mound against Los Angeles. The 2015 All-Star is 10-4 on the season with a 2.30 ERA, 115 strikeouts and 2.96 FIP. The right-hander has been outstanding on the road, going 7-1 with a 1.84 ERA in 11 starts.

He has been a little shaky as of late though, giving up 14 hits and seven runs in 13 innings since the All-Star break.

Justin Turner is out of the Dodgers lineup Tuesday after a pimple on his leg required a trip to the emergency room. Turner is 14-for-33 (.424 batting average) since the All-Star break, which ranks fifth in all of baseball. His teammate, Adrian Gonzalez, who bats third Tuesday has been even hotter since the break, going 15-for-34 (.441 batting average) which ranks third in all of baseball.

Howie Kendrick has faced Gray the most of any hitter in the Dodgers lineup, going 5-for-15 with a walk and four strikeouts in his career against him.

The Athletics team looks a little bit different as they did a couple days ago, as Billy Beane has traded both his closer Tyler Clippard and super utility man Ben Zobrist in the past couple of days.

The last time these two teams squared off was in 2012 when the Athletics swept the Dodgers in a three game series in Oakland. The Dodgers will look to turn that around Tuesday evening.
