The Los Angeles Dodgers look to extend their winning streak to six games as they take on the Colorado Rockies in a battle for sole possession of first place in National League West standings. Last season, the Dodgers’ best winning streak peaked at six games when they swept the San Francisco Giants and Atlanta Braves from July 25-31.

On the mound for the Dodgers is Zack Greinke, who is making his third start of the season. Thus far, Greinke has a microscopic 0.69 ERA and has yet to give up a home run. In his last game against the San Diego Padres, the right-hander allowed just two hits and issued one walk, but the bullpen allowed six runs in the final three innings of what ended as a loss.

Opposing Greinke is Jordan Lyles, who has allowed just three runs in 12 innings this year. He comes into the contest with a 2.25 ERA and five strikeouts on the season.

Hoping to continue his success this season is Adrian Gonzalez. He’s penciled in at his usually three-hole in the Dodgers’ lineup and can extend his streak of reaching base safely twice in a game this season to 11.

Yasiel Puig returns to the lineup after missing the last three games due to tightness in his left hamstring. Puig ran in the outfield prior to Friday’s game and Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said the medical staff cleared the outfielder Saturday morning.

On top of their six-game winning streak this season, the Dodgers also haven’t lost to the Rockies in their last six contests. The Dodgers have scored at least five runs in the last five meetings between the two teams.

While Puig returns, Andre Ethier remains a starter as he’s in left field for Carl Crawford, who Mattingly said is feeling under the weather. One night after Carlos Gonzalez and Justin Morneau were held out of the Rockies’ lineup, both return Saturday now that a right-hander in Greinke is on the mound.
