Danny Dorn pinch-hit for De La Rosa to leadoff the sixth and collected his first Major-League hit. Pollock followed with a single and after striking out Chris Ownings, Frias was removed from the game.

Pedro Baez came on in relief and got Goldschmidt to fly out. However, he was then let down by Rollins, who committed an error on a Trumbo grounder that extended the inning and load the bases. The miscue didn’t hurt the Dodgers however, as Baez got David Peralta to chase a high fastball for strike three.

Daniel Hudson came on in the bottom of the sixth, promptly struck out Gonzalez and Turner to foul out. However, before getting out of the inning, Hudson fell victim to the Dodgers’ power surge at home as Ethier clubbed a solo shot to right field.

The home run was Ethier’s fourth this season, which matches his 2014 total. Baez tossed a perfect seventh that was punctuated by him hitting 99 MPH on the pitch that struck out Nick Ahmed to end the inning.

Hudson remained on the mound for the seventh and struck out the side, which included pinch-hitter Kiké Hernandez, who hit for Baez, and Rollins after Hudson issued a two-out walk to Pederson. Sergio Santos took over in the eighth and needed just eight pitches to toss a scoreless inning of relief.

Enrique Burgos issued a leadoff walk to Kendrick in the bottom of eighth and Gonzalez’s single put two on with no outs. Burgos managed to strikeout Turner swinging, but walked Ethier to load the bases with one out.

After Yasmani Grandal struck out on a pitch in the dirt, Scott Van Slyke pinch-hit for Santos and lined a two-run single to left field that extended the Dodgers lead to 8-0 before Burgos finally managed to get out of the inning.

J.P. Howell gave up leadoff double in the ninth to Goldschmidt, then got some help from Kendrick, who robbed Trumbo of a base hit and likely RBI with a diving catch on a line drive. Pederson then tried his hand at helping out Howell by making a catch on the run at the warning track in left-center field.

Howell then recorded the final out without allowing the Diamondbacks to get a run across. The win moved the Dodgers to 5-2 in their last seven games and 11-2 overall at home this season, which is tied with the New York Mets for most home wins.
