Recap: Rob Segedin and Andrew Toles Homer in 9-5 Victory Over Giants

The Dodgers entered tuesday’s game with the rough, yet not surprising, news that Scott Kazmir and Brett Anderson would make their way onto the disabled list. With these two starters now out of the picture, the pressure is on the front office to bring up another prospect, possibly Jose De Leon. Regardless, Kenta Maeda would take the mound against the series opener versus the Giants.

Let’s take a look at the highlights!

The Dodgers’ offense started early with a run in the first, second, and third! The first run came thanks to a double by Corey Seager and an RBI single by Justin Turner!

Then in the second, Rob Segedin would hit his second homer in just two days! To top things off, his wife would deliver their first baby immediately after the game!

Before the Dodgers would have their 3rd 1-run inning in a row, the Giants would tie things up at 2 thanks to a couple of RBI singles.

But in the third, Corey Seager’s name would pop up again. This time he scored from 3rd base on a sac fly by Adrian Gonzalez!

The Giants would keep things interesting by tying things up at 3 in the top of the 5th thanks to an RBI double by Brandon Belt.

The Dodgers would not let that last very long because in the bottom of the 5th, Adrian Gonzalez would single with the bases loaded, scoring 2!

The Giants would pick up another run in the next inning, but don’t worry, the Dodgers would score another couple of runs in the bottom of the 6th!

Andrew Toles would come back in the bottom of the 8th to join Rob Segedin in hitting 2 home runs in just as many days!

Kenley would get the call to close things out in a 4 out save opportunity. Though he gave up a solo home run in the top of the 9th, he got the job done!

The Dodgers will continue this very important series on Wednesday at 7:10 PM PST with Rich Hill making his Dodger debut! Be sure to follow us on Twitter at @DodgersNation to get the play by play! Go Blue!
