Sporting News Names Corey Seager and Kenley Jansen to 2016 NL All-Star Team

Sporting News has been recognizing the talent on the Dodgers recently. Earlier this week, they named Dave Roberts as the 2016 National League Manager of the Year and Corey Seager as the 2016 National League Rookie of the Year. Well, the awards don’t seem to be stopping any time soon!

On Wednesday, Sporting News revealed their 2016 All-Star team, which included Corey Seager and Kenley Jansen. This should come as no surprise to Dodger fans since these two players were some of the most consistent leaders on the team.

Corey Seager had a phenomenal rookie year, putting up a .308 average, .512 slugging percentage, and 26 home runs. His ability to swing the bat for power and for average made him a key component in the lineup.

Although he did not play almost every day like Corey Seager, Kenley Jansen still managed to impact the Dodgers every time he stepped on the mound. During the regular season, Jansen had an impressive 1.83 ERA, 47 saves, and 104 strikeouts.

His 47 saves were good enough to put him tied for 2nd in all of Major League Baseball. They also put him at the top of the list of all time saves in a Dodgers uniform.

The Dodgers could not have gotten as far as they did without Corey Seager and Kenley Jansen. Congratulations on being named to the Sporting News 2016 National League All-Star team! There are no other Dodgers more deserving!
