Trade Deadline: Dodgers Rumored To Be Leaders For Price

[new_royalslider id=”60″] The Los Angeles Dodgers have seen a few of the starting pitchers they were linked to be traded on the July 31 deadline.

Seeing teams making moves to acquire a starting pitcher could prompt the front office to strike a deal to keep up. The names left are Cole Hamels, Cliff Lee and David Price.

According to Jim Bowden of ESPN.com, there are two teams that are expected to be leaders for Price:

The Dodgers have been linked to Price since the off-season because of their available funds and deep farm system. This season, the left-hander is 11-8 with a 3.11 ERA in 23 starts. He has 189 strikeouts and 23 walks in 170.2 innings. Price is a former Cy Young award winner and would become the third Cy Young winner in the Dodgers rotation.

General manager Ned Colletti expressed a desire to keep the organization’s top prospects, but a trade for Price would likely cost them at least two of their top three of Joc Pederson, Julio Urias and Corey Seager.

Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports has reported that the Dodgers are offering at least one of their top prospects for the left-hander:

Colletti has been known for making deals on July 31 and a move like this would likely make the Dodgers World Series contenders.

  1. Make the trade Colleti. Talent will always be there. LA fans deserve a championship as well as the players. David Price is the pitcher we need.

  2. Why not bring Urias up to the majors and use him in the bullpen for now? If he shows better quality than just an inning or two, then move him into the rotation. That would then just leave Pederson and Seager to worry about in regards to trades.

  3. julio urias shouldnt be traded if one has to out of the three, Urias is a good young pitcher that is improving
