Trending Up:

Adrian Gonzalez – Kicking off the year against the San Diego Padres, Gonzalez notched 10 hits (seven for extra bases) in 13 at-bats, including an unworldly five home runs.

As a result, he became the first player in MLB history to hit five home runs in his team’s first three games of the season.

Gonzalez continued his offensive dominance against the Arizona Diamondbacks, picking up four more hits and ultimately reaching base safely eight times in 14 plate appearances during the series (.571 on-base percentage).

His batting line to end the week is .609/.667/1.391 and he’ll undoubtedly earn the first National League Player of the Week honors for the 2015 season.

Zack Greinke: In his first start of the season against the Padres, Greinke went six strong innings while allowing just one run and three total baserunners.

Greinke was even better in his next start, against the Diamondbacks, giving up just five hits in seven innings while striking out seven. He earned a much-deserved win and finished the week with a 0.69 ERA, 0.62 WHIP, and 1.44 FIP.

Joc Pederson: After going just 2-for-10 in the San Diego series, Pederson’s bat caught fire in Arizona. He recorded four hits, including a double and home run in the final game of the series, raising his batting line to an impressive .286/.375/.571.

Honorable Mentions:

Jimmy Rollins: Four extra-base hits in 28 at-bats; game-winning three-run home run on Opening Day.

Pedro Baez/Yimi Garcia/Joel Peralta: 10.2 innings pitched, 14 strikeouts, 0.84 ERA and 0.56 WHIP.
