Trending Up:

Clayton Kershaw: With another dominant performance, Kershaw finds himself back in this section.

Going seven strong innings against the Angels, he allowed just four hits and one earned run while striking out eight. Kershaw lowered his ERA to 2.15 and has a realistic chance of finishing the season with a sub-2.00 ERA with a few more starts of this caliber.

Corey Seager: Ever since being promoted to the Majors a little less than two weeks ago, Seager has taken the baseball world by storm.

Starting in all six games last week, Seager picked up at least one hit in each of them, and overall went 9-for-19 — good for a .474 batting average. He drew seven walks, struck out just once, and at one point reached base safely in nine consecutive plate appearances, becoming the first rookie to do so since Jose Abreu in 2014.

As the week concludes, his batting line sits at a ridiculous .412/.524/.647.

Justin Ruggiano: When Ruggiano was acquired minutes before the August waivers trade deadline, he was viewed as extra depth for a depleted outfield. Needless to say, he’s been much more than that thus far.

Notching three starts and appearing in five games, Ruggiano picked up six hits in 11 at-bats — with five of them going for extra-bases (two home runs, three doubles). Since joining the Dodgers, he has accumulated three home runs and 10 RBIs in eight games.

Honorable Mentions:

Joc Pederson: With 19 plate appearances, Pederson knocked eight hits (one home run, one double) and drew a walk — good for a .474 on-base percentage).

Zack Greinke: Making two starts last week, one against the Angels and the other against the Diamondbacks, Greinke registered two more quality starts. In 14 combined innings, he allowed three earned runs and received a win in each outing, bringing his season total to 17.

Scott Van Slyke: In five starts (six games), Van Slyke knocked six hits, including two doubles, drew a walk and totaled five RBIs.

Chase Utley: Starting in four games, Utley picked up five hits and is currently sporting a nine-game hitting streak.
