VIDEO: Andre Ethier Hits A Home Run And Triple Vs. Reds
Up until the last handful of games, Andre Ethier has spent the majority of the 2014 season battling with Carl Crawford for playing time in left field. With Matt Kemp’s recent streak of benchings, Ethier has benefitted and served as the Los Angeles Dodgers’ starting center fielder.
Tuesday was Ethier’s fifth consecutive start in center and the Dodgers greatly benefitted. Ethier gave the Dodgers a 1-0 lead in the second inning with a home run to right-center, just his third homer of the season
Ethier’s next at-bat came in the fourth inning after Adrian Gonzalez was intentionally walked to load the bases with one out. Ethier hit a bases-clearing triple down the right field line to extend the Dodgers’ lead to 4-0. The Dodgers won the game 6-3, and Ethier finished 2-for-4 with four RBIs and a run scored.
