VIDEO: Clayton Kershaw Strikes Out Eight Vs. Colorado Rockies

Clayton Kershaw put together one of the most dominating months in MLB history. The ace of the Los Angeles Dodgers staff finished June with a 6-0 record and 0.82 ERA, to go along with a list of other statistics that are straight out of a video game.

For his first start in July, Kershaw was the same dominating pitcher, no matter the setting being the unfriendly confines of Coors Field. Kershaw struck out four of the first seven batters he faced and didn’t allow a hit until DJ LeMahieu’s one-out single in the third inning.

The left-hander proceeded to overpower the Colorado Rockies lineup through his next five innings of work and didn’t allow a second base hit until the seventh inning, when the Dodgers already had the game well in hand.

On an efficient 93 pitches in eight innings, Kershaw finished with eight strikeouts, allowed two hits and walked only one batter. The eight shutout innings also extended his scoreless innings streak to 36.
