VIDEO: Dee Gordon Makes A Pair Of Dazzling Plays Vs. Diamondbacks

[new_royalslider id=”180″] The Los Angeles Dodgers were back at Dodger Stadium Friday to begin a six-game homestand against two NL West foes.

The Dodgers entered the day 8.5 games back of the San Francisco Giants in the NL West standings and not only looking to close the gap, but also improve on their sub-.500 record at home. Matt Kemp hit a two-run home run in the second inning that gave the Dodgers an early lead as Clayton Kershaw worked his way through the Arizona Diamondbacks lineup.

After managing to score one run against Kershaw, the left-hander began the fifth inning with a strikeout and then got help from Dee Gordon. First, Gerrardo Parra hit a ground ball up the middle that Gordon backhanded and made a jumping throw for the second out:

Two pitches later, Gordon followed that up with a nice diving stop and throw from his knees to get Paul Goldschmidt at first:

Gordon’s transition to second base has been nearly seamless, as he continues to make impressive plays at the position; proving Yasiel Puig isn’t the only Dodger who can flash an impressive glove. Gordon has also improved at the plate and has emerged as a legitimate threat for the Dodgers at the top of the batting order.

The Dodgers won the game and picked up a full game on the Giants, who lost to the Colorado Rockies.
