VIDEO: Diamondbacks And Dodgers Brawl After Zack Greinke Hit By Pitch

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks have played three games this season, with the Dodgers winning each and and neither team showing any carryover from the heated moments that encompassed some of last season’s meetings. Zack Greinke will start for the Dodgers against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday, and it was Greinke who was at the center of a benches-clearing brawl.

On a June evening at Dodger Stadium, the Diamondbacks and Dodgers exchanged beanings before Greinke was hit near his head on an Ian Kennedy pitch and the brawl ensued. The benches had previously cleared after Greinke hit Diamondbacks catcher Miguel Montero in the back, which likely was in retaliation for Kennedy hitting Yasiel Puig in the face the previous inning.

Along with the players shoving each other, coaches got involved, with Dodgers manager Don Mattingly and hitting coach Mark McGwire leading the charge. The brawl resulted in six ejections, three of which were coaches. Scoring three runs in the bottom of the eighth, the Dodgers won the game, 5-3.
