Alex Guerrero was transferred from Single-A Rancho Cucamonga to Triple-A Albuquerque Saturday and played his first game with the Isotopes since his altercation with former teammate Miguel Olivo.

However, the story Saturday was on the second inning brawl that erupted with Erisbel Arruebarrena in the thick of things. Arruebarrena was brushed back by a pitch from Mike Bolsinger of the Reno Aces, who are the Arizona Diamondbacks Triple-A affiliate.

Arruebarrena’s took exception to the pitch and his at-bat ended with strike out and he exchanged words with Aces catcher Blake Lalli.

From there, the situation spun out of control as the benches cleared and Arruebarrena was tackled to the ground, which is seen in the video provided by KOLO TV in Reno:

It’s believed the incident stemmed from Arruebarrena’s slow stroll around the bases after hitting his first home run in the Isotopes rout Friday night:

A total of nine players and Aces manager Phil Nevin were ejected and suspensions are likely forthcoming. Along with Arruebarrena, the Isotopes lost Pedro Baez, Carlos Frias and Walter Ibarra to ejection.

Guerrero and Joc Pederson were not believed to have been injured in the incident. The Aces went on to win the game, 7-3.
