VIDEO: Final Out Of Clayton Kershaw’s First Career No-Hitter

Clayton Kershaw took the mound for the 10th time this season, second against the Colorado Rockies, but Wednesday’s start would be unlike any other in his career.

The left-hander opened the game with a strikeout of Corey Dickerson, then retired Brandon Barnes and Troy Tulowitzki in what appeared to be a routine inning for Kershaw. By the end of the third, Kershaw had five strikeouts and had yet to allow a hit.

The Dodgers had taken a 2-0 lead in the first inning and scored five more runs in the bottom of the third to give their ace ample run support. Kershaw would take it from there as he continued to work his way through the Rockies’ lineup without allowing a runner to reach base.

A Hanley Ramirez error in the seventh inning cost Kershaw a perfect game, but the lefty continued to plug away and wound up with his first career no-hitter. Kershaw also set a new single-game career high with 15 strikeouts and somewhat fittingly ended the game by getting Dickerson swinging .
