VIDEO: Joc Pederson Hits Grand Slam In Eighth Inning

As the Los Angeles Dodgers work to sort out their crowded outfield, another center fielder continues to impress while waiting in the wings.

Joc Pederson is in his first season with Triple-A Albuquerque and has fans salivating over what could be. The left-handed hitting center fielder is batting .323 with 21 home runs and 53 RBIs through 87 games with the Isotopes.

Pederson added to his stats Thursday with the Isotopes trailing the Fresno Grizzlies, the San Francisco Giants’ affiliate, 7-3 in the eighth inning. On a 1-1 count, Pederson swung at a pitch down around his ankles and lifted it over the right field fence for the go-ahead grand slam.

The highlight was Pederson’s second in the series with the other being an impressive catch in the series opener against the Grizzlies.

Dodgers manager Don Mattingly recently called Pederson the best center fielder in the organization, which was followed by a source claiming Mattingly’s desire is to have Pederson playing in center for the Dodgers.
