VIDEO: Miguel Rojas Clears The Bases With A Double Vs. Rockies

The Los Angeles Dodgers completed the three-game sweep of the Colorado Rockies in convincing fashion; an understatement when examining the body of work Clayton Kershaw put together on the evening.

While Kershaw has deservedly received much, if not all the attention in the wake of the win for throwing a no-hitter, Miguel Rojas can likely lay claim to being the second-most important Dodger of the game.

With two outs, the bases loaded and the Dodgers leading 3-0 in the third inning, Rojas doubled to score three runs and put the game well out of reach. The extra-base hit was Rojas’ first of the season and the three RBIs make up for 75 percent of his total in 13 games with the Dodgers.

While the hit was certainly a highlight for the rookie, Rojas’ biggest contribution may have come in the seventh inning as his play kept Kershaw’s no-hitter intact two batters after the perfect game was broken up.

Rojas has played nine season in the Minors with last season being his first in the Dodgers organization. As Chone Figgins, Justin Turner and Juan Uribe have dealt with injuries, Rojas has filled the void admirably at third base.
