VIDEO: MLB Honors Kershaw For Making History With Two Cy Young Awards

In their storied history, the Los Angeles Dodgers have had numerous legendary pitchers toe the rubber. From Orel Hershiser to Sandy Koufax to Fernando Valenzuela, the list of Dodgers pitchers reads as a who’s who.

Clayton Kershaw has plenty to achieve before he can potentially be anointed as the best pitcher in Dodgers history, but the left-hander has already reached a feet that no other left-handed Dodger or MLB pitcher has accomplished.

By winning the Cy Young Award in 2011 and 2013, Kershaw became the first lefty to win the award twice before the age of 26. Kershaw finished second in voting in 2012 and he’s led the National Legaue in ERA from 2011-2013.

Kershaw’s quest for a third Cy Young Award got off on the wrong foot after he was only able to make one start before being sidelined with inflammation in his upper back. Kershaw returned from the DL Tuesday and looked sharp as ever, tossing seven shutout innings and striking out nine without allowing a run.
