Video: TBS Intro Including Magic Johnson, Tommy Lasorda, 2013 Dodgers

Before the Dodgers took on the Cardinals in Game 2 of the NLCS, TBS ran a retrospective look at the Dodgers franchise that included Tommy Lasorda, Magic Johnson and the 2013 version of the Dodgers.

Johnson, who is apart of the Guggenheim Group that owns the Dodgers, talked about his time with the Lakers and how Los Angeles has always been a Dodger town. Lasorda talked about his own performance as manager as the 1970’s and 80’s was the “Golden Age” of Dodger baseball.

However, the Dodgers fell off and the Lakers kept on going as LA quickly became a Lakers town. The Frank McCourt era made Dodger fans fall off the train, but the Guggenheim Group restored order to a storied baseball franchise.

The video then chronicles how the Dodgers put themselves into a position to win with the trade with Boston, signing Zack Greinke and finally the promotion of Yasiel Puig. In a time now that the Dodgers find themselves down 2-0 in the NLCS, looking back at all the troubles the franchise had in recent years and how this team always battled, even when they were 30-42 in June.

Here’s the full video that TBS ran as the Dodgers will look to cut the Cardinals lead in half on Monday.
