VIDEO: Yasiel Puig Makes Catch, Collides With Fence
Yasiel Puig made his 17th start in center field this season on Wednesday and it was his 18th game overall in 2014 at the position.
Although he’s committed some mistakes or made plays more difficult than necessary, Puig has largely adapted well to his new position. With the Los Angeles Dodgers leading the Atlanta Braves 4-1 in the fourth inning, Puig came up with another highlight-worthy catch.
Freedie Freeman hit the first pitch he saw towards right-center, which sent Puig, who was shaded to left-center, into a sprint. Puig quickly reached the warning track and made the catch a few steps in front of the fence.
The catch evoked memories of the one Puig recently made against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim to rob Josh Hamilton of a hit.
While Puig provided help with his glove Wednesday night, he failed to do so at the plate, going 0-for-4 with four strikeouts and a walk in the loss.
