Vin Scully’s Memorable Career Calls (VIDEOS)

Vin Scully

For the 65th consecutive season, Vin Scully was the voice behind Dodgers baseball and while the legendary broadcaster has certainly seen and called it all, 2014 provided a new share of highlights and memories for Scully.

The season began with the Dodgers facing the Arizona Diamondbacks in the Opening Series with Scully making an exception and joining the Dodgers on the long trip. It led to memorable photographs of Scully and a Koala and two wins for the Dodgers.

Scully was also behind the microphone for walk-off wins, told a story about a bird pooping on St. Louis Cardinals manager Mike Matheny’s head, recounted getting Babe Ruth’s autograph as a child, and Clayton Kershaw gems, including the southpaw’s first career no-hitter.

Scully also thrilled fans at Dodger Stadium with the in-game announcement that he was returning in 2015 for an unprecedented 66th consecutive season. With Scully celebrating his 87th birthday Saturday, we look back at his memorable calls and some light-hearted moments.
