WATCH: Cody Bellinger and Alex Verdugo Give Glimpse of Dodgers Future

The Dodgers’ young guns showed off on Sunday.

Locked in an 8-8 tie, Cody Bellinger hammered a ball over right field to put L.A. up for good. It was his first hit of the spring, and Dave Roberts was impressed.

“Haven’t seen one hit that well here,” Roberts said. “Haven’t seen many guys in the big leagues that can hit a ball like that. … He swings hard, and he can barrel some baseballs.”

Bellinger said he couldn’t wait to see the clip. And if you somehow missed it, now you can too.

Alex Verdugo knocked on out in the same inning to extend the lead.

“I’m fighting for a spot, regardless how many outfielders we have on the 40-man,” He said. “Everybody knows how many, but you’ve got to play as hard as you can, and you got to show them you belong and you can be that guy they can trust. I take a lot of pride in that. Just because I’m 20 and we have 10 outfielders, I believe I can succeed.”
