WATCH: Justin Turner Discusses Getting Cut by Mets; Signing with L.A.

Turner said that he was cut due to the Mets needing a roster spot, and described how hard it became to find a new home as a free agent. That is, until the Dodgers offered him his deal.

So it looks like the Dodgers can thank Marlon Byrd and Michael Young for preventing Justin Turner from signing with the Red Sox and Twins, as well as having him wait on that phone call from Los Angeles. The Justin Turner story turned out to be a little deeper than just easily signing a contract in Los Angeles. It is crazy to think how things work out sometimes. Luckily, it turned into the perfect partnership between team and player.
